The 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix will be held on July 26th over 70 laps of the 4.381 km (2.722 miles) Hungaroring circuit. This makes a total race distance of 306.458 km (190.420 miles). The lap record dates from 2004, when Michael Schumacher recorded a time of 1 minute, 19.071 seconds in his Ferrari. Ferrari had a mixed weekend last time out in Germany. Felipe Massa finished third, but Kimi Raikkonen’s car failed. McLaren also experienced contrasting fortunes. The Hermann Tilke designed circuit features sweeping elevation changes and the daunting turn eight, which is a four apex corner. The turn is taken at very high speed, exerting lateral forces of 5G on the drivers and has caught many out. The 2009 Turkish GP will be held on June 7th, over 58 laps of the 3.317 miles (5.338 km) circuit, giving a total race distance of 192.250 miles (309.396 km). Red Bull will be hoping to bounce back after a disappointing Monaco GP weekend. Mark Webber made it into the points but his team-mate Sebastian Vettel, who lies third in the F1 World Championship, crashed out of the race. The Monaco GP is the second European race of the season, with Jenson Button winning last time out in Spain for Brawn GP. Last year’s Monaco GP was won by Lewis Hamilton, but the defending F1 World Champion is unlikely to be in contention for victory this year, as he continues to struggle with his troublesome McLaren. Gulf Air Bahrain GP

The fourth round of the 2009 F1 World Championship, the Gulf Air Bahrain GP, takes place on April 26th at the Bahrain International Circuit in the Sakhir region. Follow all the action at www.livef1.net, with Bahrain Grand Prix Live online F1 coverage and special features.

The Bahrain GP is a relatively new addition to the F1 calendar. Only two teams, Ferrari and Renault, have ever won the event. The Bahrain International Circuit features vast run-off areas and a variety of challenging corners. Turns one, four and 12 offer particularly good overtaking opportunities. Set in the desert the circuit often has sand blown across it, resulting in an additional challenge for the F1 drivers as they battle low grip levels.
